in the moonlight
her wings sparkle many colors
she only dances in the dead of night
she can't remember the sadness she smothered
she wears a dress of pink
and scarlet ( blood red)
'why can't I sleep?' she thinks.
as she dances around the dead
in the moonlight.
her wings reflect fireflies
she doesn't know she lost the fight
she just lives in her lies.
she wears a dress of pink
and purple ( like her eyes)
she really doesn't know what links
her misery to the fact that she is mine.
in the moonlight
her wings burn as she dances
she is blind to her plight
in the darkness she prances
her wings sparkle many colors
she only dances in the dead of night
she can't remember the sadness she smothered

goldfish
did you know that there is no scientific name
for the back of the knee?
i read somewhere that
change was good
other sources did disagree.
sometimes, goldfish die
and float to the top
of their glass bowl
as if
trying to float to god.
had a dream once
you kept me
in a room
with pillows and
your shirts
typed what it meant
into a dream interpreter
i found on google.
it didn't say anything
i googled, instead,
about your shirts
it said that i loved you.
someone told me
you had my heart in a jar
i laughed and said
if you did,
i'd be dead.
did you know that the skin at your elbow
doesn't hurt
if you pinch it?
i am afrai

Heart
Trish was a lovely 16, her skin alabaster and her hair long and red. Shy and unsure, she never spoke to the boy. She only watched the back of his head in class and dreamed of touching his hair and having his arms around her. But on this day he looked right at her and smiled. And her heart trembled with excitement.
Trish was a charming 17, her laugh brought silence to a crowded room and her smile made young boys take their eyes off her breasts. She loved a green eyed boy in silence, though in his heart he knew. The day he vowed to return that love to her, she gave him the greatest gift she had. And her heart was filled with passion.

drowning mermaids
a body of water lays crumpled on the side of the road,
the ambulance lights gyrate and the shrieks of the seabirds
are drowned out by the wailing siren, saaave meee, saaave meee.
the cops mill around, doodling stick figures and question marks on their pads,
and no one really knows anything about the bodies unaccounted for.
if it looks like a fish, smells like a fish,
it's probably a dead girl wrapped in plastic bags,
that's what the police men are laughing about over coffee at denny's that night.
she looked beautiful, like a mermaid, one of the rookies muttered,
a thin boy with downcast eyes staring into the depths of his mug.
